A woman in Nakuru County, Kenya, brought immense joy to her family and community by giving birth to quadruplets. The mother, Susan Jepkemei, delivered her four bundles of joy at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital. Initially, Susan and her husband, Jonathan Mwangi, were expecting triplets as indicated by the scans.
The birth of the quadruplets, who arrived one minute apart, was both a delightful surprise and a massive responsibility for the couple. Susan, a mother of two other children, expressed her astonishment and gratitude for the unexpected blessing . Jonathan, a milk transporter from Lare in Njoro, shared his mixed emotions, highlighting the financial strain of supporting six children on his current income.
Susan recounted the challenges she faced during the pregnancy, including being put on bed rest from the third month. Despite these hurdles, she remained optimistic and thankful for the health of her babies. The quadruplets were born prematurely at 32 weeks and are currently receiving care at the newborn unit to ensure they gain sufficient weight before moving to the Kangaroo wards.
The couple has reached out for support, as they navigate the financial and logistical challenges of raising four newborns alongside their other children. Their story has touched the hearts of many, inspiring a sense of community and the spirit of ubuntu. With the help of well-wishers, Susan and Jonathan hope to provide the best care for their six children and cherish the unique journey of parenthood that lies ahead.
