Residents of Kitengela were shocked to discover the body of an unidentified man dumped near the Athi River Interchange along Mombasa Road on Monday evening, February 3. The body was found by bodaboda operators near the river’s culvert. The deceased was shirtless, and his legs appeared to have been tied with a piece of cloth. Witnesses suggested that the body was recently dumped, as it would have been swept away if it had been there for an extended period.

Human rights activist Hussein Khalid confirmed the discovery, noting that the body had marks on the neck, indicating strangulation. The deceased, estimated to be around 30 years old, also had a cut on his leg. The body has since been transferred to the morgue, and investigations are underway to establish the man’s identity.
The discovery has caused panic among local residents, especially as it follows the recent unexplained disappearances of four men from Mlolongo, two of whom have been found dead. The police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are actively investigating the case, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The community remains on edge as they await answers and hope for justice for the deceased and the families of the missing men.
