A team of county officers, led by Kajiado Chief Officer for Social Services, Kajiado East Sub County Administrator Mr. Bruce Likama, SP Benard Manti, Public Health Officers, and Compliance Officers, has issued a permanent closure notice to bars around Balozi Road behind St. Paul’s Hospital in Kitengela.
The bars in question have been found to be operating without public health clearance or food hygiene clearance, posing significant health risks to customers. Additionally, the bars have been disturbing the peace of the residential area and the nearby hospital by playing loud music throughout the night, depriving patients of a peaceful environment.
One of the bars, Nuba Sports Club, has gained notoriety for incidents involving “mchele” pills, where patrons’ drinks are spiked, leading to robbery of their money and mobile phones. Authorities strongly advise customers to avoid Nuba Sports Club due to these reported criminal activities.
Authorities have issued a stern warning to other bar owners to comply with public health regulations and maintain peace in residential areas. Non-compliance will result in similar stringent actions to protect public health and safety.
