Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) has taken a bold step to maintain the sanctity of worship spaces by banning politicians from addressing congregants during church services. This announcement was made on March 16, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Nairobi, during the consecration of Bishop Jonathan Kabiru.

The Archbishop emphasized that while politicians are welcome to attend services, they will no longer be allowed to make speeches inside the church. Instead, if they wish to address congregants, they must do so outside.
