Law enforcement in Migori County, Kenya, conducted a successful operation that led to the seizure of bhang worth an estimated Sh12.7 million. Acting on a tip-off, officers from the Isebania Police Station raided a godown in Taraqwiti village, located approximately four kilometers from the station. The raid uncovered 423 kilograms of dried plant material suspected to be cannabis sativa, stored in 14 full sacks and two smaller sacks.

During the operation, a 23-year-old woman was apprehended at the scene. She reportedly informed the authorities that the godown belonged to her brother-in-law. In addition to the bhang, the police discovered other items, including 23 cartons of explosives used in mining, four drums containing 200 kilograms of cyanide, and two cartons with eight rolls of detonating wire.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to the contraband. This operation highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the region.
