A heartbreaking discovery was reported in Ririk village, Chepngaina sublocation, when Emma Chepkorir found her mother, Rachealine Rutto, lifeless in her home. On Tuesday, 25th March, Emma, unable to reach her mother by phone, decided to visit her residence. On her way, she encountered her six-year-old brother, Elvis Kipkoech, near the Holiness Repentance Church.

Upon arriving at the house, Emma discovered her mother lying in a pool of blood. Local authorities from Bomet Police Station were called to the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that Rachealine Rutto, aged 45, had sustained severe injuries, including deep cuts to her neck, left arm, and chest. It was determined that she succumbed to these injuries.
The police confirmed that Rachealine had been at home with her youngest son, Elvis, who had slept in a separate room. The scene was processed, and the body was transported to Longisa Referral Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Edward Imbwaga, the Bomet County Police Commander, confirmed the details of the incident.
