Body Suspected to Be of Missing Bomet University Student Found in Nyangores River

Bomet County authorities have recovered a body suspected to be that of Joseph Onami Moses, a former first-year student at Bomet University College, who had been missing since April 28, 2025. The body was discovered today, May 6, 2025, at approximately 12:45 PM in Nyangores River, near the Chebirir area.

A coordinated effort involving multiple agencies led to the recovery of the body. The Bomet County Disaster Management Team, Kenya Red Cross Bomet Branch, CSI Officers from Bomet Central, and OCS Bomet were present at the scene. The body was identified by Ian Omwenga, a cousin of the deceased and a student at Bomet University College.

Authorities documented the scene before transferring the body to Longisa Referral Mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The incident was confirmed by Edward Imbwaga, the Bomet County Police Commander, who assured the public that investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding Moses’ disappearance and subsequent recovery.
