Juja Member of Parliament (MP) George Koimburi has been found dumped in a coffee plantation in Kiambu County, hours after his alleged abduction outside a church in Mugutha2. The shocking incident has raised concerns about his safety and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
Koimburi was reportedly seized by unknown individuals on Sunday, May 25, in full view of congregants attending a church service. His wife, Ann Koimburi, sustained injuries while attempting to prevent the abduction. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the MP being forced into a silver Subaru Forester with civilian registration plates.
After hours of uncertainty, Koimburi was found alive but in visible distress, writhing in pain in a coffee farm in Kiambu. His family has confirmed that he is currently receiving medical attention at Plainsview Hospital near Ruiru town. Disturbing video footage has surfaced showing the MP in a weakened state, further fueling concerns about his well-being.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has denied involvement in the abduction but confirmed that Koimburi has been under investigation since Friday for alleged land fraud and misuse of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
