Authorities in Bomet County have launched investigations into a distressing case where a woman was allegedly attacked and assaulted on her way home.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Mirriam Chepngetich, was returning from Kapkesosio Trading Center at approximately 4:00 a.m. when she was accosted by two individuals reportedly known to her. According to her statement, the assailants repeatedly assaulted her, leaving her unconscious before fleeing the scene.
Members of the public later discovered the victim in critical condition and promptly provided assistance. Following her report to the authorities, she was escorted to Longisa Referral Hospital for medical evaluation.
Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing to locate and apprehend the suspects, who remain at large. Law enforcement agencies urge anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid in the ongoing inquiry.
