A harrowing incident has left residents of Rotik Village reeling after a woman was reportedly assaulted in broad daylight while tending to livestock.
According to police reports, the victim, Lidia Chebet, was grazing cattle on a neighbor’s parcel of land approximately 4 kilometers west of the local station when she was approached by a man known to her—Emmanuel Kipngeno. Armed with a machete (panga), Kipngeno allegedly told Ms. Chebet that her husband was calling her home. When she refused to go with him, he reportedly dragged her into a nearby bush and assaulted her.

Ms. Chebet was taken to Ndanai Sub-County Hospital for medical assessment, and a P3 form was filled to document the injuries sustained. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident and is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
