Narok School Closed After Pupil’s Brutal Murder

A wave of shock and grief has swept through Narok County after a tragic incident at Narok Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School led to the immediate closure of the institution. The school was ordered shut by the Ministry of Education following the brutal killing of a 14-year-old Grade Nine pupil under disturbing circumstances.

The boy’s body was discovered in the dormitory late Saturday night, bearing a deep neck wound and signs of struggle. Preliminary investigations revealed blood traces in multiple locations across the school compound, including the boys’ toilet and a bench outside the dormitory, suggesting the attack may have occurred elsewhere before the victim returned to his bed.

Authorities from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the school’s security guard, who was reportedly found with blood-stained clothing. He is currently assisting police with inquiries as forensic teams continue to comb the scene for evidence.

The incident has ignited outrage among parents and local residents. On Sunday morning, tensions escalated as a crowd stormed the school compound, setting one dormitory ablaze before police intervened to prevent further destruction. Community members described the victim as a disciplined and cheerful student, and many are demanding accountability from the school administration.

“We want to know where the matron, caretaker, and guards were when this happened,” said Beatrice Isaiah, a concerned parent. “Our children deserve to be safe at school.”

Narok County Director of Education, Apollo Apuko, confirmed the indefinite closure of the school and urged parents to remain calm while investigations proceed. “We are deeply saddened by this tragedy. No child should ever face such horror in a place meant for learning,” Apuko stated.

The boy’s body was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, calls for sweeping reforms in school security have intensified, with residents demanding installation of surveillance systems and stricter access controls.
