A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken the community of Kibiko in Kajiado North after the lifeless body of a three-year-old boy, reported missing last Thursday, was discovered dumped in a seasonal river near the Rocks Savanna area.
The child, whose identity is being withheld for legal and ethical reasons, was last seen in the company of his stepfather, according to CCTV footage retrieved from a nearby location. The footage has become a critical piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Sources close to the family revealed that the suspect, the boy’s stepfather, had been involved in frequent domestic disputes with his wife, allegedly expressing hostility toward the child and claiming he did not want him in their home. These tensions have now taken a devastating turn, culminating in what authorities suspect to be a deliberate act of violence.

The suspect is currently being held at Ngong Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and they are treating the case as a potential homicide.
Meanwhile, the local community is reeling from the incident. Residents of Kibiko and surrounding areas have expressed outrage and grief, with some threatening to storm the police station demanding vigilante justice. Police have since increased security around the station to prevent any escalation.
Kajiado North Sub-County Police Commander urged calm, stating, “We understand the pain and anger this incident has caused. However, we must allow the justice system to take its course. Any form of mob justice will only derail the investigation and put more lives at risk.”
