Naivasha, Kenya – Ten people lost their lives early Monday morning in a grisly road accident at Karai area along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The crash occurred at around 2 a.m. when a Greenline bus collided head-on with a 14-seater matatu belonging to Nanyuki Cabs Sacco. According to eyewitness accounts, the bus was overtaking when it rammed into the oncoming van.
Among the deceased were two minors. Seven victims, including the children, died instantly at the scene, while two others succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.
Approximately 40 passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to Naivasha District Hospital for medical attention.

Naivasha Sub County Police Commander Wilson Segei confirmed the incident, noting that investigations are underway to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
This latest tragedy highlights ongoing concerns about reckless driving and road safety along the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway, which has witnessed a series of deadly accidents in recent years.
