In a separate incident in Nyamira County, police identified the body of 37-year-old boda boda rider Anthony Gai, which had been abandoned on a roadside in Mabariri on the same day. The motive behind his killing remains unclear, and his body has been preserved for postmortem examination.

Meanwhile, in Nyeri County, another boda boda rider, Erick Muchoki Muriuki, was found murdered on February 12 in Gakawa. His motorcycle was missing, and police suspect he was killed after resisting a robbery. The victim had two stab wounds to the chest, and his body was taken to the mortuary for further examination. Authorities note that attacks on riders have been increasing, with stolen motorcycles often refurbished and sold to unsuspecting buyers. Detectives are investigating the trend.

Elsewhere in Kakamega Town, police are probing the murder of 27-year-old Benjamin Obangi, whose body was discovered outside his residence in Maraba estate on February 12. He was found in a scrap metal yard where he lived, with head injuries indicating foul play. His body was also moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police say investigations into all these incidents are ongoing, as communities continue to grapple with rising cases of violent crime targeting individuals, particularly boda boda riders.
