In a significant development today,Peter Mbae, the head of Goverment Delivery Services, has tendered his resignation. In his resignation letter addressed to Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Mbae cited continuous unresolved issues as the reason for his decision.

Mbae, who was appointed on June 7, 2024, was tasked with overseeing the implementation of government programs and projects across various ministries, departments, and agencies. Despite his dedication and passion for the role, Mbae expressed his frustration over working conditions and unresolved issues that hindered his ability to perform effectively.

In his resignation letter, Mbae stated, “Despite my passion, focus, and consistency, unresolved issues that I have consistently brought to your attention have made it impossible to carry out my duties as intended. My position as Head of Government Delivery Services is no longer tenable”.

Mbae emphasized his commitment to public service but acknowledged that the persistent challenges and lack of resolution to key issues forced him to step down. Moving forward, Mbae plans to pursue other interests and return to his professional roots prior to his government appointment.

His resignation marks the end of a tenure where he was instrumental in tracking and supporting the execution of the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda under President William Ruto’s administration.
