A suspect appeared in court on January 13, 2025, facing charges for an armed robbery incident. The accused, whose identity has been withheld, was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman in the early hours of January 9, 2025, in Elpaso, Ngong.

The suspect was presented before the Ngong Magistrate Court, where the case was heard under the supervision of Ngong Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Jacob Ndunda. The prosecution detailed the events of the robbery, wherein the suspect supposedly brandished a weapon and demanded the victim’s valuables. The woman, who was on her way to work, was left traumatized but unharmed.

During the court proceedings, the suspect was offered two options: a bond of KES 300,000 or a sentence of seven years in prison, pending a full trial. The OCS, addressing the court, emphasized the need for stringent measures to deter similar crimes in the future.

The case has drawn significant attention from local residents, highlighting ongoing concerns over safety and security in the area. Community members have praised the police for their swift action, hoping that justice will prevail and such incidents will be curtailed.

The next hearing is scheduled for early February, where more evidence and witness testimonies will be presented.
