In a tragic incident in Kapkwen village, Bomet County, Monicah Wambui Martim, aged 56, was found dead after committing suicide on Tuesday, March 11. The case was reported to Chebunyo police station by Kabsoge sublocation assistant chief Edward Rop. Monicah was discovered inside her son’s house, located 30 meters from her main residence. Her husband, Joahana Martim, informed the police officers at the scene that he attempted to untie the bedsheet rescue her but the body fell on the bed. There were visible hanging marks and injuries around her neck, but no suicide note was found at the scene. The body was taken to Tenwek Mission Hospital morgue, where it awaits a postmortem examination. The incident was confirmed by Bomet County police commander Edward Imbwaga.
