Brotherly Conflict in Kongasis: A Shocking for Turn of Events

In a deeply unsettling event that has left the Kongasis community in shock, a 19-year-old man, Amos Kipkorir, allegedly severed the left hand of his elder brother, Dennis Mutai, aged 23. The incident, reported by Mr. Barosoi, the area chief of Kongasis location, has sparked widespread concern and calls for justice.

Authorities acted swiftly upon receiving the report. Police officers arrived at the scene, promptly arresting Amos Kipkorir. Meanwhile, Dennis Mutai, who sustained the grievous injury, was rushed to Longisa Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention. In a bid to preserve evidence and facilitate further investigation, the severed hand was taken to Longisa Referral Mortuary.

Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga confirmed the incident on March 23, 2025, emphasizing the seriousness of the case. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances that led to this tragic altercation between the two brothers.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for conflict resolution mechanisms within families and communities to prevent such devastating outcomes.
