A fatal road accident on March 6, 2025, in Bomet County has left one person dead and another seriously injured. The incident occurred when a Toyota Land Cruiser, traveling from Kakoros towards Bomet, struck a pedestrian, resulting in her instantaneous death. The vehicle then crashed into a grocery stall, injuring Vivian Chepkurui, aged 35, who suffered severe head injuries. Chepkurui was promptly rushed to Tenwek Mission Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Additionally, the Toyota Land Cruiser collided with a stationary Toyota Probox, which was parked off the road. Both vehicles involved in the accident were towed to the police station for inspection.
Edward Imbwaga, the Bomet County Police Commander, confirmed the incident and issued a strong warning to drivers, urging them to exercise vigilance to prevent such tragic occurrences. The deceased’s body was transferred to Longisa Funeral Home.
