In a proactive move to enhance student safety, Kajiado North Subcounty Police Commander, Tom Achiya, recently convened a meeting with all headteachers in the region. The discussion centered on the well-being of school-going children, particularly regarding their transportation schedules.
During the meeting, Commander Achiya emphasized the importance of ensuring that no school bus picks up children before 6:00 AM for school or drops them off past 6:00 PM when returning home. This directive aims to protect students from potential risks associated with early morning and late evening travel, such as road accidents, insecurity, and exhaustion.

The headteachers welcomed the initiative, acknowledging the need for structured transport schedules to safeguard students. They pledged to work closely with parents and transport providers to ensure compliance with the new guidelines.
This move aligns with broader efforts by local authorities to improve child safety and create a secure learning environment. Parents and guardians are encouraged to support the directive by ensuring their children adhere to the recommended travel times.
By implementing these measures, the Kajiado North education community takes a significant step toward prioritizing student welfare, reinforcing the commitment to a safer and more structured school transport system.
