A police recruit has died after collapsing during a training session at the General Service Unit (GSU) Field Campus in Magadi, Kajiado County.
Authorities stated that the deceased developed sudden unconsciousness while undergoing the recruit course. He was rushed to Magadi Hospital for emergency care before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police confirmed the incident occurred on Saturday and said the recruit’s family has been informed of the tragedy.
This latest incident comes just days after two Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruits died in Eldoret and another police recruit passed away at the Kiganjo Police Training College, raising concerns about the safety and health conditions during training sessions across the country.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the Magadi collapse are ongoing.
