The body of a Kenyan police officer who was tragically killed in Haiti is set to arrive in Kenya this week. Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja confirmed the news on March 2, 2025, during a Sunday service held in Naserian, Kajiado East, where the officer’s family had gathered for prayers.

The officer, who was deployed in Haiti under the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, was shot while on patrol on February 23, 2025. He sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The officer’s body is expected to be repatriated between March 4 and 6, with all logistical arrangements for the return having been finalized.
Inspector General Kanja conveyed his condolences to the officer’s family, describing the slain officer as a hero who died while working to restore order in Haiti. He assured the family that the government and the Police Department would stand with them during this difficult time. Senior police officers and local leaders joined residents and church members in mourning the fallen officer.
